Pixie Hollow announced the 2012 Animal Mother's Day under the "Events" section on the Pixie Hollow site.
Animal Mother's Day (5/8 - 5/23)

The animal mothers loved having some time off last year for Animal Mother’s Day, and so Fawn thought it would be fun to do it again! Starting May 8, Fawn will have a new quest for Members and all players will be able to earn badges for helping take care of the baby animals. Give the baby bunny a bath in Springtime Orchard, feed the baby chipmunk in Maple Tree Hill, sing the baby owl to sleep in Snowcap Glade, and play with a brand-new baby animal in Sunflower Gully!
Be sure to fly into the Ballroom during the event for special plushie gifts from the animal mothers! Plus, happy, healthy, and well-fed Animal Friends will have the chance of finding a pixie purr-fect gift to wear themselves in the meadows. And check out the May Calendar, because the Critter Sitters will be flying in to help take care of the baby animals too!

Players who entered the game during the event got the following announcement:
Quest
A special quest, available to Member Fairies, was released on 8 May 2012. Players needed to visit Fawn in Maple Tree Hill to begin the quest, which was available until 24 May 2012.
Players who completed the quest were awarded the Spring Breeze Green Baby Animal Portrait.

Event Gifts
In honor of the 2012 Animal Mother's Day, The Ballroom was opened to Member Fairies. Players could enter the Ballroom and receive a Ginger Tan Baby Chipmunk Plush, Almond Brown Baby Bunny Plush, Carnation White Baby Owl Plush, and a Pepper Black Kitten Plush. Once the gifts were clicked, the gifts were no longer available.

Badges
During the 2012 Animal Mother's Day event, players who flew into Sunflower Gully, Springtime Orchard and Maple Tree Hill and clicked on the interactive play features would earn the Playful Kitten, Squeaky Clean Bunny and Chipper Baby Chipmunk badges. Players who wore a Stars Are Out Cap (available at Cassie's Costume Shop) would earn the Baby Owl Lullaby badge.

Interactive Play
During the event, players could Feed the Baby Chipmunk, Play with the Kitten, Wash the Baby Bunny and Lull the Baby Owl to Sleep.

Click on the pile of acorn chips to feed it a treat!
Its cheeks start to fill!
Click again and its cheeks get bigger!
Mmm! Those treats sure are yummy!
Click again and they get even bigger!
Click again and they continue to grow!
Click again and they are stuffed pretty well now!
Do you think it can fit one more treat in?!?
I don't know ... can it fit this treat into its already stuffed cheeks?
Now they are all full and the baby chipmunk starts to swallow all the treats!
All the treats are eaten and the baby chipmunk is happy!

Click on the ball of yarn to begin playing with the kitten!
The kitten appears behind the entrance to Iridessa's Glade.
You can now see her ears and tail!
She is popping out from behind the entrance now!
She is going to pounce on the ball of yarn!
She has the ball of yarn in her paws now!
Rolling and playing with the ball of yarn is fun!
Batting at the ball of yarn is fun, too!
Bounding over the ball of yarn to safety!

Click on the leaf buckets filled with suds to give the baby bunny a bath!
Click on the first leaf bucket of suds to clean the baby bunny!
Click on the second leaf bucket of suds to clean the baby bunny!
Click on the third leaf bucket of suds to clean the baby bunny!
Click on the fourth leaf bucket of suds to clean the baby bunny!
Click on the fifth leaf bucket of suds to clean the baby bunny!
The suds are everywhere and the baby bunny is clean!
The baby bunny is so happy to be clean, it giggles!

To lull the baby owl to sleep, gather in Snowcap Glade with at least two of your pixie friends, while all three players wear their Stars Are Out Cap!
The baby owl needs to be sung to.
Each pixie had to put up the Singing emote.
When all three fairies have the Singing emote up ...
you will earn the badge and ...
The baby owl will go to sleep!
